Datapacks were first added in 1.13, and allow you to make large changes to the way Minecraft works on your server, similar to adding a Mod.
If your server is 1.13 or higher, you’ll be able to add and run Datapacks on it, just make sure that you have the correct version Datapack, as some Datapacks may not function in the wrong version. The following steps will allow you to install a Datapack:
- Find the Datapack you wish to add, and download it to your computer (a Datapack will usually be a .zip file or a folder).
- Navigate to your server’s directory. If you’re having issues doing this we have a guide on how to do that here - https://shockbyte.com/billing/knowledgebase/102/How-to-Access-Your-Server-Directory.html
- Navigate to the world > datapacks folder, and place your datapack into that folder. (NOTE: If you server world isn’t called “world”, then the world folder will be the same name as your world).
- In your server, type /reload to enable the newly installed datapack.
As always, if you have any issues installing datapacks or further questions don’t hesitate to contact us using our form here - https://shockbyte.com/contact
