
How To Configure Your Sons Of The Forest Server

#Accessing your Server Settings
Your primary server settings can easily be found in the Config section of your server's control panel.

Access your control panel and Stop your server.

Navigate to the config tab.

Click on Dedicated Server Settings.
#Configuring your Server Settings
Once you have access to your server settings, you can make any required changes. The table below lists all of the available server settings.
| Option | Description |

| Server Name | Set the name of the server. This is shown on the in-game server list. |
| Server Password | Sets a password of the server used when connecting to a server. Leave this empty if you want your server to be open to the public. |
| Save Slot | Sets the save slot that the server will use, this value can be integers greater than or equal to 1. |
| Save Mode | Save mode has two options: Continue - Creates a new save on SaveSlot if the currently assigned save slot doesn't exist, or it will load the current save. New - Will create a new game, and overwrite any game previously saved on the SaveSlot. If a server stops & starts, the previous save will be overwritten as long as this is set to new. |
| Game Mode | Sets the gamemode difficulty of the server when creating a new save, this will not be used if loading an already existing save file. Options are: Normal, Hard, Hard Survival, Peaceful, Custom. When using Custom, the game settings will be used from CustomGameModeSettings parameter. To learn more, click here. |
| Save Interval (seconds) | Sets how often the server will automatically save to the assigned save slot. |
| Idle Day Cycle Speed | Determines the speed on how time passes by compared to normal gameplay, when the server is idle (no players connected). |
| Idle Target Framerate | How many times a second should the server update information while there are no players connected. |
| Active Target Framerate | How many times a second should the server update information while players are connected. |
| Enable Log Files | Determines if logs will be saved for the server, which can be found in the logs folder in your server's files. |
| Timestamp Log File Names | Should log files include the time it was generated in the name. |
| Timestamp Log Entries | Should each line in generated log files include the time it was generated. |
