How To Make Your Left 4 Dead Server Private

Setting your Left 4 Dead 2 server to private is a great way to stop uninvited players from joining. The easiest way to do this is by giving a Steam Group exclusive access to your server.

#Using the Control Panel

You can easily restrict server access to a certain Steam Group by adding the group ID to your server's Server.cfg file.

1. Access your control panel and Stop your server.

2. Navigate to the Files tab.

3. Locate and Open the server.cfg file.

4. Enter your Steam Group ID next to sv_steamgroup.

If sv_steamgroup is missing, then this will need to be manually added.

5. Set sv_steamgroup_exclusive to 1.

6. Click Save and Start your server.
