How to Configure PVP/Friendly Fire on your 7 Days to Die Server

When running a 7 Days To Die server, you may wish to change the rules regarding PvP and/or friendly fire. There are 4 available PvP modes available completely disabled, enabled for certain situations and completely disabled. | Value | Mode | Description | | ----- | ----- | ----- | | 0 | No PvP | Players cannot damage one another under any circumstances. | | 1 | PvP with allies only | Players can only damage each other if both agree to it by adding each other to their Allies list using the in game players menu. | | 2 | PvP with strangers only | Players can damage each other UNLESS they are Allies. | | 3 | PvP with anyone | Players can damage everyone, regardless of Allied status. | How to Adjust 7D2D PvP Settings To change the PvP mode on your 7D2D server, you will need to change the PlayerKillingMode field to a value of 0-3 in your server's serverconfig.xml file. 1. Open your server's control panel. 2. Navigate to the Files tab. 3. Find and open the serverconfig.xml file. 4. Locate the  option and set your chosen value. 5. How to Change the Difficulty of Your 7 Days to Die Server

Most customisation of your 7 Days to Die Server will be done through its file, including changing the difficulty. There are 5 difficulty levels, as explained below with their differences. | Level | Skill | Description | % Damage done by Zombie | % Damage done by Player | | ----- | ----- | ----- | ----- | ----- | | (0) Scavenger | Easiest | Easiest setting, intended for absolute beginners | 50 | 150 | | (1) Adventurer | Easy | More challenging than the easiest level | 75 | 125 | | (2) Nomad | Normal | Designed for players with FPS game experience | 100 | 100 | | (3) Warrior | Hard | More challenging than normal mode | 150 | 75 | | (4) Survivalist | Harder | Even more challenging! | 200 | 50 | | (5) Insane | Hardest | The hardest difficulty level! | 250 | 25 | Changing the Difficulty You can change the difficulty of your server via the serverconfig.xml file. 1. Open your server's control panel and Stop the server. 2. Navigate to the Files tab. 3. Find and open the serverconfig.xml file. 4. Locate and set the value of the Game Difficulty property to your desired difficulty, referring to the number in the first column of the table above. 5. Save the file and then Restart your server to apply the changes.

This can help bring a unique feel to your server, letting it stand out against the rest! --- Editing the configuration file with our editor You can configure your 7 Days to Die server settings file with our configuration editor in the Shockbyte Control Panel. 1. Open your server's Control Panel. 2. Navigate to the Config tab. 3. Open 7D2D Server Settings. 4. Locate and set your desired settings. E.G. set to 0. 5. Save the file then Restart your server. --- Manually editing the configuration file You can also change your 7 Days to Die server settings by editing the file manually. 1.
