How to Configure Easy Anti-Cheat on your Rust Server

Easy Anti-Cheat is a third-party anti-cheat software to counteract hacking and cheating in Rust. Some server owners may wish to disable Easy Anti-Cheat on their Rust server to allow cracked/offline mode players to connect to their server. Although various reasons might motivate a server owner to do this, we do not recommend disabling EAC unless you know what you are doing. ::ProseNote{title="Important" description="Disabling Easy Anti-Cheat on your Rust server may cause your server not to appear in the in-game server browser." appearance="default"} :: Enabling or Disabling EAC By default, Rust servers will have EAC enabled, however, you can disable it in your Rust Server Settings configuration file through your server's control panel. 1. Access your control panel and Stop your server. 2. Navigate to the Config tab and Open the Rust Server Settings. 3. Locate the Easy Anti Cheat option and set it to true/false. 4. Click Save and Start your server. To learn more about Rust server hosting, you can browse our library of Knowledgebase articles here.

How to Configure Building Decay on your Rust Server

Rust has a built-in game mechanic called decay to counteract inactive player-built structures. Decay will occur when a tool cupboard does not have enough upkeep resources available, resulting in structures slowly losing health over time until they are destroyed or repaired by a player. This configuration option is useful if a server owner would like to alter the rate at which structures decay or disable it entirely. --- Configuring Decay You can modify the decay rate using the server.cfg configuration file located in your server's control panel. 1. Access your control panel. 2. Navigate to the Files tab and open your file. If you are unable to locate the server.cfg file, you can refer to our guide on the topic here. 3. Enter  followed by your desired value. For example, will result in a decay rate of 50%, and a decay scale of zero will disable it entirely. 4. Save the file and then go to the server console. 5. Enter the commands and to make the changes live. --- To learn more about Rust server hosting, you can browse our library of Knowledgebase articles here.
