LuckPerms is one of the more recent and popular permission managers available for the latest versions of Minecraft. It allows server admins to control what features players can use by creating groups and assigning permissions. LuckPerms is most commonly used on Spigot/Paper servers; however, it is also available for Forge/Fabric servers. --- Installing LuckPerms on Forge/Fabric To install LuckPerms on a Forge or Fabric server, you must download the correct version, upload the mod.jar into your mods folder, and restart your server. 1. Download the appropriate LuckPerms build for your server type. You can find the downloads here: https://luckperms.net/download 2. Access your server's control panel and navigate to the Files tab. 3. Navigate to the folder. 4. Upload the jar file you downloaded from Step 1. 5. Restart your server. That's it! You've now installed LuckPerms onto your modded server. How to Install Fabric on your PC
If you're running a Fabric server that has mods for both server and client, or if you're looking to improve client-side performance alongside other mods, you'll need to download Fabric onto your client. This isn't required if your server is running server-side only mods such as Lithium, but for client-side mods, you'll need to install Fabric locally. --- Installing Fabric You can install Fabric by running the Fabric installer and creating a Minecraft launcher profile. 1. Download the Fabric Installer. You can download the Fabric installer from their website. Similar to Forge, this installer will generate all of the required files for whichever version of Minecraft you select. However, Fabric does not have multiple installers for each version, and you can install any version you want via the same installer. Additionally, this is the same installer used for installing the server-side files. 2. Run the Fabric Installer, and ensure you are on the Client tab. 3. Fill in the required information. Minecraft version - This is the version of Minecraft that you will be playing, the most important option. Loader version - If you know the specific version you need, then select it; otherwise, it's advised to keep this as the latest. Launcher location - This is where your Minecraft Install folder is; this would depend on the Operating System you are using. 4. Click Install. 5. Launch Minecraft, and select the Fabric profile that was created. After the installation is complete, you'll be able to install mods by downloading them from a mod repository such as CurseForge. How To Install Fabric On Your PC Using CurseForge or MultiMC
It is possible to install Fabric and build a custom modded Minecraft experience for you and your friends using either CurseForge or MultiMC. --- Installing Fabric with CurseForge Fabric can be installed by creating a custom profile on the CurseForge launcher in just a few steps. 1. Open CurseForge and select Minecraft. 2. Click Create Custom Profile. 3. Fill out the following information. ::ProseNote{title="Note" description="For the Modloader Version option, choose the version of Fabric that is compatible with your mods (if you are unsure, leave it as default)." appearance="danger"} :: 4. Create the profile, then click My Modpacks and select your new custom profile. You can now add mods to your custom profile. --- Installing Fabric with MultiMC Another great launcher that can be used to install Fabric is MultiMC. Fabric can be installed by adding a custom instance. 1. Download and open MultiMC. You can find a download link to MultiMC here: https://multimc.org/ 2. Click Add Instance in the top left corner. 3. Enter a name and choose the version of Minecraft you want to play. 4. Click OK to create your instance, then right-click it to edit it. 5. Click Install Fabric, select the version you want to use, and then click OK. You can now add mods to your newly created MultiMC instance. How to Install Fabric on your Minecraft Server
Fabric, like Minecraft Forge, is a server type that allows you to run mods on your Minecraft server. While less popular than Forge, Fabric still allows for a vast range of mods to be installed; this includes those centred around server performance improvement without heavily modifying vanilla features, which is something you can't get from Spigot or Paper, as they modify vanilla behaviours to provide greater performance. --- Creating a Fabric Server Instance The Shockbyte Panel allows server owners to store up to 3 unique server instances by default. We will be using this feature to create a new server instance with Fabric installed. 1. Open your server's Control Panel and Stop your server. 2. Click the Instances tab on the left-hand sidebar. 3. Click the Create New Instance button. 4. Select Fabric as your server type, then click on Continue. 5. Choose the version that is needed and then click on continue. ::ProseNote{title="Important" description="When selecting a version, verifying the required loader version on the mods/modpack page is recommended as certain mods may require a specific build. Give your new Server Instance a Name and Short Description, then click Continue. --- Swapping Server Instances After creating a new Server Instance with your desired server type installed, you will need to change your active instance in order to use it. 1. Open your server's Control Panel. 2. Click the Instances tab on the left-hand sidebar. 3. Click the Switch button next to your desired Server Instance to begin the transition. 4. Confirm the switch over to the new Server Instance, then wait for the process to complete. That's it! Once your server is accessible again, you will be able to play using your brand new Fabric instance.

Download your desired mods. You can find Fabric mods from various websites, such as CurseForge. For this example, we'll be installing Hwyla. Many Fabric mods, including Hywla, require a dependency to work. Many mods can work by themselves, but often you will find a mod that will not function unless its dependency is installed on the server/client. Cardboard is a Fabric mod that allows you to run Spigot/Paper plugins alongside mods.
