How To Give Specific Character Models To Players In Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server
Unfortunately with a vanilla Left 4 Dead 2 server, it is not possible to select a specific character for each player. However, with the use of a plugin called Set Survivor Models, it has made this possible!
The download for Set Survivor Models can be found here. Once downloaded, you should have a file named l4d2_sm_setmodel.smx.
Important
SourceMod must be installed on the server before adding any plugins. There is a guide on this here.
#Installing The Plugin
Set Survivor Models can easily be installed by uploading the .smx file to your server's plugins folder.

Access your聽control panel聽and聽Stop聽your server.

Navigate to the Files tab.

Navigate to聽
left4dead2/addons/sourcemod/plugins/. -
Upload
l4d2_sm_setmodel.smx. -
Start聽your server.
#Using The Plugin

Ensure you are set as an admin.

Open console with
`key. -
Enter the following command:
sm_setmodel <player username> <nick|rochelle|coach|ellis|bill|zoey|francis|louis>
Ensure you pick just one of the character names.
