RuneScape: Dragonwilds Server Hosting - Price Reductions & What's Ahead

It's been an incredible first two weeks since RuneScape: Dragonwilds launched dedicated server support, and we wanted to share an update on where things stand, including some good news on pricing.
#A Well-Optimized Game
The Jagex team has done a fantastic job optimising Dragonwilds. Over the past few months of development and the updates since launch, the game's dedicated server performance has exceeded our expectations. Servers are running efficiently, memory usage is well below what we originally planned for, and the overall stability has been impressive.
Because of that, we're able to reduce the resources allocated to each plan and pass those savings directly back to you.
#New, Lower Prices
A 2-player server now starts at under $10/month, making it easier than ever to jump into Dragonwilds with a friend. To be clear, this isn't a downgrade. Our data shows that the extra resources simply aren't being used, and we don't think you should be paying for something you don't need. Performance will remain exactly the same.
Already a customer? We'll be refunding the difference to all existing customers automatically. If you purchased extra RAM add-ons, those will be refunded as well. You're welcome to re-add extra resources manually if you'd like.
#What the Jagex Team Has Been Working On
The Dragonwilds dev team hasn't slowed down since launch. Here's a look at what's been shipping and what's coming soon:
#Server discovery improvements:
- Direct IP connections: Join a server directly via its IP address, without needing to rely on the in-game server browser.
- Improved server search: Fixes are underway to make finding servers in-game more reliable.
- Auto-discovery: Your own server will soon show up prominently for you in-game, so you won't have to search for it.
#Setup experience:
- Config file stability: A fix for server configuration values resetting unexpectedly.
- Simplified ownership: The Owner ID requirement is becoming optional. You'll be able to claim your server with an admin password when you first join.
#When Does This Take Effect?
The price drop has occurred effective immediately, and any new customers will be able to secure their server at the new, lower price.
We’re not forgetting our existing customers however, and anyone who purchased a Dragonwilds server at the original price, will be refunded the difference by Friday the 17th of April.
