How to Change the Day Length on your V Rising Server

It is possible to change not only the length of your V Rising server's day and night cycle but also the start and end times of an in-game day. This can all be done within your server's custom game preset configuration file.

#Selecting a Custom Gametype

In order to make changes to a V Rising server's gameplay settings you will first need to select the Default game settings preset in your server's control panel.

1. Access your Control Panel and Stop your server.

2. Navigate to the Config tab and select the Server Host Settings.

3. Locate the Game Settings Preset option and select Default from the dropdown.

4. Select the save button.

#Setting the Length of a 24 Hour Cycle & Length of a Day

The length of your server's full 24-hour day-night cycle can easily be set in your server's ServerGameSettings.json file.

1. Navigate to the Files tab and locate the /VRisingServer_Data/StreamingAssets/Settings/ServerGameSettings.json directory.

2. Locate the GameTimeModifiers section.

3. Using the DayStartHour/DayStartMinute settings define an in-game time for the start of an in-game day.

4. Using the DayEndHour/DayEndMinute settings define an in-game time for the end of an in-game day.

5. Locate the DayDurationInSeconds option and set a new value in seconds.

6. Save and exit the file. Restart your server to ensure the changes apply.
