How to Change the Frequency and Buff Strength of Blood Moons on your V Rising Server

Blood moons are a random event that can occur between 6 PM and 9 AM in-game time that provide players with a range of stat boosts. The frequency of which Blood Moons can occur can be determined in your GameServerSettings.json file.

#Selecting a Custom Gametype

In order to make changes to a V Rising server's gameplay settings you will first need to select the Default game settings preset in your server's control panel.

1. Access your Control Panel and Stop your server.

2. Navigate to the Config tab and select the Server Host Settings.

3. Locate the Game Settings Preset option and select Default from the dropdown.

4. Select the save button.

#Configuring Blood Moons

Both the frequency and buff strength of blood moons can be easily configured using your server's control panel.

1. Navigate to the Files tab and locate the /VRisingServer_Data/StreamingAssets/Settings/ServerGameSettings.json directory.

2. To change the frequency of Blood Moons locate BloodMoonFrequency_Min / BloodMoonFrequency_Max and enter the number of days.

3. To change the buff strength locate BloodMoonBuff and enter your desired value.

4. Save and exit the file. Restart your server to ensure the changes apply.
