How to Configure your Vintage Story Server

All common Vintage Story server configuration options are conveniently located in the Vintage Story Server Settings section of your server's control panel. This file allows you to easily update various settings, including server name, welcome message, active save, playstyle, whitelist, and more.


#Accessing your Server Settings

  1. Access your Control Panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to the Config tab, select the Vintage Story Server Settings.

#Configuring your Server Settings

Once you have access to your server settings, you can make any required changes. The table below lists all of the available server settings.

OptionDescription
Server NameThe form of identification of your server on the in-game server list.
PasswordThe password that is required to connect to your server. If left empty, means there is no password required to connect.
Server DescriptionSets a description for the server, which can allow players to read the details of the server.
Welcome MessageOtherwise known as the message of the day, is the message given to players once they connect to your server.
Whitelist ModeEnables the whitelist feature.
Advertise ServerDecides if the server will display on the in-game server list.
Pass Time When EmptyAdvances time when the server has no connected players.
Masterserver URLSpecifies the URL for the master server connection.
Mod Db URLURL for server's mods database source.
Client Connection TimeoutDefines the time before disconnecting unresponsive clients.
Entity Debug ModeEnables detailed in-game entity debugging information.
Map Size X/Y/ZDefines the map size.
Server LanguageSets the server's default language for players.
Max Chunk RadiusDefines the maximum world chunk load radius for players.
Allow PvPEnables or disables player versus player combat.
Allow Fire SpreadControls whether fire can spread across blocks.
Allow Falling BlocksEnables or disables block falling physics.
Save File LocationPoints to the world save file loaded on server start. If the file does not exist, a new world will be created.
World NameSets the name of the save file being used. Changing this value does not create or switch worlds.
World SeedSets the seed used in world generation.
World TypeSets the type of world that will be generated. Options being: Standard & Superflat
World Play StyleSets the play style used by players. Available Options: Survive and Build, Creative Building, Exploration, Homosapiens & Wilderness Survival
Creative ModeEnables creative mode.
