
How to Configure your Vintage Story Server

All common Vintage Story server configuration options are conveniently located in the Vintage Story Server Settings section of your server's control panel. This file allows you to easily update various settings, including server name, welcome message, active save, playstyle, whitelist, and more.
#Accessing your Server Settings
- Access your Control Panel and Stop your server.
- Navigate to the Config tab, select the Vintage Story Server Settings.
#Configuring your Server Settings
Once you have access to your server settings, you can make any required changes. The table below lists all of the available server settings.
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Server Name | The form of identification of your server on the in-game server list. |
| Password | The password that is required to connect to your server. If left empty, means there is no password required to connect. |
| Server Description | Sets a description for the server, which can allow players to read the details of the server. |
| Welcome Message | Otherwise known as the message of the day, is the message given to players once they connect to your server. |
| Whitelist Mode | Enables the whitelist feature. |
| Advertise Server | Decides if the server will display on the in-game server list. |
| Pass Time When Empty | Advances time when the server has no connected players. |
| Masterserver URL | Specifies the URL for the master server connection. |
| Mod Db URL | URL for server's mods database source. |
| Client Connection Timeout | Defines the time before disconnecting unresponsive clients. |
| Entity Debug Mode | Enables detailed in-game entity debugging information. |
| Map Size X/Y/Z | Defines the map size. |
| Server Language | Sets the server's default language for players. |
| Max Chunk Radius | Defines the maximum world chunk load radius for players. |
| Allow PvP | Enables or disables player versus player combat. |
| Allow Fire Spread | Controls whether fire can spread across blocks. |
| Allow Falling Blocks | Enables or disables block falling physics. |
| Save File Location | Points to the world save file loaded on server start. If the file does not exist, a new world will be created. |
| World Name | Sets the name of the save file being used. Changing this value does not create or switch worlds. |
| World Seed | Sets the seed used in world generation. |
| World Type | Sets the type of world that will be generated. Options being: Standard & Superflat |
| World Play Style | Sets the play style used by players. Available Options: Survive and Build, Creative Building, Exploration, Homosapiens & Wilderness Survival |
| Creative Mode | Enables creative mode. |
