How to Give Players Cheats on your Garry's Mod Server

Garry's Mod allows you to enable cheats on your server to modify the way certain parts of the game function. This can include commands like noclip, which allows you to fly through the ground as well as many physical objects in the world. These commands can all be enabled easily right from your server console.

Important

Enabling cheats with sv_cheats enables them for everyone. To have specific permissions set up, please see How to Setup Player Permissions in Garry's Mod.

#Enabling Cheats via the Config

  1. Access your Control Panel and Stop your server.

  2. Navigate to the Config tab and select the Garry's Mod Game Settings file.

  3. Locate the Enable Cheats setting and set the value to 1.

  4. Save and restart your server to ensure the new changes apply.

#Enabling Cheats via the Console

  1. Access your Control Panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to your server's console (can be found either in the Overview page or on the Console tab).
  3. Type the following command: sv_cheats 1. Submit the command by pressing Enter.
