How to Install Mods on your Necesse Server
Modding is a great way for server owners to expand the amount of content available, or improve the quality of life on their Necesse game server.
Most Necesse mods can be found on the Necesse Steam Workshop. Thankfully, Shockbyte offers full Steam Workshop support. As a result, to install them all you will need is the mod's Workshop ID.
#Locating Workshop IDs
Before you can install a Steam Workshop mod, you will need to locate the mod's Workshop page and copy its Workshop ID.
-
On your Steam client, navigate to the Necesse Steam Workshop.
-
Locate your desired mod, and select it.
- Copy the mod ID in the URL of the web page (the numbers after
id=).
#Installing Workshop Mods
Once you have your desired mod IDs, you will need to add them to your Necesse Server Settings to automatically install them.
-
Open your Server Control Panel.
-
Stop the server and wait for it to go offline.
-
Navigate to Config and open Necesse Server Settings.
- In the Workshop Mod IDs setting, enter your mod IDs in separate fields.
Each Mod ID should be entered in its own field. To add a new field, click the Add + button.
- Save the file and Start the server.
#Installing External Mods
To install a mod .jar file from the Steam Workshop or elsewhere, upload it to the mods folder.
-
Open your Server Control Panel.
-
Stop the server and wait for it to go offline.
-
Navigate to Files and open the
/modsfolder. -
Upload the desired mod
.jarfile. -
Start your server.
