How to Restore Player Skins on an Offline Mode Minecraft Server
Offline mode servers allow cracked (non-premium) game clients to connect. Among many other downsides, one negative to Offline Mode servers is that they no longer communicate with Mojang skin servers. As a result, players will all appear as default Minecraft skins when they connect.
Luckily, a plugin called SkinsRestorer exists, which does exactly as it sounds: it bridges the gap between Mojang skin servers and your offline Spigot server, restoring player skins.
Please Note
This guide explains how to install a plugin on a Minecraft server. To install plugins, you must have a plugin-compatible server type running. If you are unsure if you are running a plugin-compatible server type, please visit this article for more information.
