How To Use FileZilla For FTP (File Management)

FileZilla is an FTP software that allows you to easily access and manage your server files. We recommend that you use this when uploading and downloading files to your server especially with worlds and other huge files. --- How to connect to your server directory via FTP You can connect to your server directory via FileZilla. 1. Download and install the FileZilla Client for your system. Make sure that you download the FileZilla Client and NOT FileZilla Server. 2. On your server control panel, navigate to Files SFTP Connect. 3. Fill out the details displayed on the SFTP Server Login page of your server control panel into FileZilla as shown below. Your FTP password is the same as your control panel password. 4. Click Quickconnect on FileZilla and wait for it to successfully connect. If you are getting errors when connecting through FileZilla, this may be because you have provided the wrong FTP details. Login to the Server Panel. 2. Locate your server on the My Servers page. 3. On your server, locate the Files tab on the top menu. 4. You will now be within your server files. That's it! You will now be able to view and manage the contents of your server directory.

How To Access Your Server Control Panel

If you have just ordered your very own server from Shockbyte, you will first need to start your server before you can play on it. This is done through your sever panel which is also what you will use to manage and configure your server to your liking. --- Accessing your Server Panel New User You can access your server control panel with the temporary password sent to your inbox after purchasing a server. 1. Open the email titled Your Temporary Shockbyte Panel Password in your email account. This email contains your temporary password to access the control panel. 2. Now, open the email titled Your New Shockbyte Server in your email account. Click on Visit Shockbyte Panel to navigate to your server. If this link doesn't work, you can use this link. 3. Enter the email address you used to purchase the server, then click Sign In. 4. You will receive a prompt to enter your temporary password found in the email titled Your Temporary Shockbyte Panel Password in Step 1. Then click on Sign In. ::ProseNote{title="Important" description="Your control panel password is NOT the same as your Shockbyte client account password. Use the password provided in the email." appearance="default"} :: Accessing your Server Panel Existing User You can log into your server control panel using the link in the email sent or by visiting your My Servers page on the panel. 1. Enter the email address you used to purchase the server, then click Sign In. 3. You will be prompted to enter your password and then click Sign In. 4. If you are accessing your server through https://panel.shockbyte.com/, you can find your server on the My Servers page. That's it! You should now be logged into your server control panel. FTP: 530 Authentication Failed Error

If you are encountering the error when accessing your server files via an FTP client such as FileZilla, it means that you are using an incorrect username or password. In order to successfully access your server files, you can follow these tips: Ensure that you are using the correct username. Your FTP username can be found on the control panel under Files SFTP Connect. Please ensure that you enter the username exactly as it appears as there is a set of numbers at the end of the username that must be included. Note that the username is different for each server. Ensure that you are using the correct password. Your FTP password is the same as your Server Control Panel password. Make sure that there are no spaces before or after the username and password. If you are copying and pasting the details in, try entering them manually (and vice versa). You can also try resetting your Server Control Panel password by following our guide. Ensure that you enter the correct information in the appropriate locations. Although some of the files may be corrupted or unusable, some may not be and can be saved." appearance="error"} :: Restoring a Generated Backup If you generated a backup using the Shockbyte Panel, you can easily restore the backup automatically. 1. Open your server's Control Panel. 2. On the left-hand sidebar, click the Backups tab. 3. Click the three dots next to the Download button next to your most recent backup. When selecting a backup to use as a restoration point, make sure you select the most recent backup generated before the data loss you experienced. 4. Click the Restore button and accept the confirmation. After a few moments, your backup will be restored, and you will be able to use your server again.

This allows you to share your console access with your staff, while ensuring they only have access to what they need, promoting a secure and collaborative environment. --- Creating a New Panel Role You can't modify any of the default panel role permissions, so if you'd like a role with different permissions, you must create your own custom role. 1. Navigate to the Shockbyte Panel and open your server panel. 2. Click the Sharing tab to view your server roles 3. Click the Edit button in the Roles section 4. Click the Create Role button, give your role a name, then click Confirm 5. Modify your desired permissions, your changes will automatically save --- Editing an Existing Panel Role If you would like to modify the permissions of one of your existing panel roles, you can quickly do so by following these steps. If you haven't added any roles to your server yet, you will need to add one as the default roles cannot be edited. 1. Navigate to the Shockbyte Panel and open your server panel. 2.
