How to Make Your Renown Server Private

Adding a password to your Renown server or setting it to private helps you control who can join your world. You can make your server password-protected so only those you share it with can connect, or hide it entirely from the public server list by making it private.

#Setting a Server Password

You can set or change your Renown server password directly from the configuration panel.

1. Access your control panel.
2. Stop your server before making any changes.
3. Navigate to the Config tab.
4. Open the Renown Server Settings section.
5. Locate the setting labeled Server Password.
6. Enter your desired password.
7. Click Save, then Start your server to apply the changes.

Players will now need to enter this password before joining your server.

#Making Your Server Private

If you’d like to prevent your server from appearing in the public server browser, you can make it private.

1. Access your control panel.
2. Stop your server before making any changes.
3. Navigate to the Config tab.
4. Open the Renown Server Settings section.
5. Locate the setting labeled Private Session.
6. Change its value to True.
7. Click Save, then Start your server to apply the changes.

When this option is enabled, your Renown server will no longer appear in the public community list and can only be joined directly using its IP address.
