How to Download your Minecraft Server World

If you wish to use your Minecraft server world in singleplayer, as a backup, or to use on another server, you will need to download your Minecraft world onto your computer. --- Downloading a Minecraft World You can download your world files by accessing the server files and downloading the world folders. 1. Navigate to your Control Panel, and Shut Down your server. When making any changes to a server, whether that could be configuration or file transfers. We always recommend stopping your server to avoid potential risks. 2. Access your server files, and select each of the world folders you wish to download. All Vanilla or Modded server types will contain The Nether, and The End files within the world folder under the names DIM1 and DIM-1, respectively. All Spigot server types will have seperate world folders for The Nether and The End, as seen from the image. 3. Click Download. Files are automatically downloaded to your downloads folder. Once the download is complete, the file(s) selected will be provided in a ZIP. That's it! You have successfully downloaded your server's world. You can now use this on your single-player, upload it to another server, or simply store it on your computer as a backup.

This guide will walk you through the process of transferring your world from Minecraft Realms to your Shockbyte server, allowing you to continue building and playing exactly where you left off. ::ProseNote{title="Important" description="Your Realms world must be the same version as the server to prevent any generation issues. For information on changing your server version, check out our guide here." appearance="danger"} :: How to Download a Realms World When hosting a Realms world, backups are stored in the cloud which you can download into your single-player saves. To be able to download a Realms world, you must be the owner of the world and your Realms subscription must be active. 1. Open up your Minecraft Launcher, and head into Minecraft Realms. 2. Select the Realm you would like to download the world of and click Configure Realm. 3. Select the world that you wish to download. 4. Click World Backups, then Download Latest. When prompted, click Yes to download the world as a single-player world. 5. Access your single-player menu to make sure the world has been downloaded. It is recommended you also log into the world to ensure everything is as it should be. Now that you've downloaded your Realms World, you can upload it to your Shockbyte service. How to Disable The End on your Minecraft Server

The End is a dimension found in Minecraft that homes the Ender Dragon, which can be entered by entering an End portal found in a Stronghold. As fun as The End can be to explore, it can cause significant performance issues to servers if loaded consistently. For some server owners, you may be hosting a server that does not require The End, which means you may benefit from disabling it on your server. How to Disable Player Advancement Announcements

Advancement is a feature available exclusively on Minecraft Java Edition, wherein players can complete tasks in-game. This feature assists new players in Minecraft's gameplay by completing challenges. Once a player achieves an advancement, a sliding toast notification is displayed in-game on the upper-right corner of the screen for the player and is also broadcast in the chat. ::ProseNote{title="Important Reminder" description="You need to be an operator (OP) to be able to use these commands in-game. How to Disable Chat Reporting on Your Minecraft Server

Since the release of Minecraft 1.19.1, chat reporting was introduced, a new feature to help moderate multiplayer chats. While chat reporting helps keep server chats safe, being reported can result in suspension or permanent bans from all Minecraft servers and Realms. Chat reporting was introduced in Minecraft 1.19.1, meaning it only applies to servers running 1.19.1 or higher. However, you can easily disable chat reporting through the use of mods and plugins. --- How to Disable Chat Reporting using Mods There is a popular Forge mod that disables chat reporting by removing the message signatures that link messages sent to your Minecraft account. These messages can not be reported, and thus effectively disable chat reporting. 1. Access your Control Panel and Shut Down your server. 2. Download the No Chat Reports mod. You can find and download the No Chat Reports mod on CurseForge. 3. Install the mod on your PC. Drag the mod into your local installation's mod folder. How to Create a Flat World for Your Minecraft Server

A flat or superflat world in Minecraft is a world with no features on its terrain, such as trees, hills, and bodies of water. By default, a flat/superflat world consists of a layer of bedrock, two layers of dirt, and one layer of grass. Villages and mobs will also spawn in this world. How to Configure Your Minecraft Server (server.properties)

The server.properties file is where your server's configurations and settings are stored. While the default configuration of a new Minecraft server works for most situations, you may wish to customize your server by tweaking a few of the configuration options, and this will require you to modify the server.properties file. Doing this is made easy with the Shockbyte Control Panel, so you won't have to manually edit the file directly from your server directory. All Minecraft servers from Shockbyte come with access to our in-house control panel so that you can configure and set up your new Minecraft server easily. --- Accessing Your Server Settings Please note that any changes made to your server settings while the server is online require the server to be restarted in order to take effect. We recommend editing your server settings while the server is offline and starting it when you are finished. 1. Open up your Shockbyte Control Panel and navigate to the Config tab. 2. Select your Server Properties. Configuring Your Server Settings Now that you have accessed your server settings, you may modify them to your preference. The table below describes some of the more useful and frequently customized server settings options available in your server control panel. | Name | Default Value | Description | |-----------------------|---------------------|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | Difficulty | Normal | Controls the difficulty level for the server. If zero, it will be randomized. | | Enable command blocks | Disabled | Controls whether command blocks can be used on the server or not. | | Enable RCON | Disabled | Enables RCON for your server, which allows you to access your server console remotely. | | RCON Password | 0 | If RCON is enabled, this password will be used to access it. | | Allow Nether | Enabled | Controls whether players have access to teleport into the Nether dimension. | | Allow Flight | Disabled | Determines whether players have the ability to fly in survival mode. | | Spawn Animals | Enabled | Controls whether animals should be spawned in the world or not. | | Spawn Monsters | Enabled | Controls whether monsters should spawn in the world or not. | | Spawn NPC | Enabled | Controls whether villagers can spawn in the world or not. | | Generate Structures | Enabled | Controls whether structures will generate in the world, like villages, strongholds, or dungeons. | | PVP | Enabled | Sets whether player versus player combat is enabled on the server. | | Online Mode | Enabled | Configures whether the server will authenticate players with Mojang servers or not. | | View Distance | 10 | Sets the maximum amount of chunks that will be viewable by players on the server. This setting can be very taxing on performance at high values. | | Max Players | 20 | Dictates the maximum number of players that can join your server at one time. | | Max Build Height | 0 | Determines the maximum height at which blocks can be placed within the world. | Please note that the table above may not reflect the options available for your server, or the order in which they are listed.
