Enshrouded 1.0 launches on October 15, 2026, for PC via Steam and PlayStation 5, with PS5 Pro support, marking the end of Steam Early Access. Xbox Series X|S is coming later, with Keen Games currently targeting spring 2027. The game's price also rose on September 8 ahead of launch.

The wait is almost over, Flameborn.

After more than two and a half years of building absurdly detailed castles, accidentally gliding into danger and disappearing into the Shroud for "just five minutes," Enshrouded is finally preparing to leave Early Access.

Keen Games officially confirmed the Enshrouded 1.0 release date on June 25, 2026, locking in October 15, 2026 as the big day.

But 1.0 is about more than removing the Early Access label. New content, combat changes, quality-of-life improvements, a console launch and a price bump are all part of the plan.

#What Is The Enshrouded 1.0 Release Date?

The Enshrouded 1.0 release date is October 15, 2026.

Keen Games confirmed the date in its official 1.0 release date announcement, which came with a short cinematic trailer and a promise that the finer details would follow over the summer.

Enshrouded originally entered Early Access on January 24, 2024, so the full release arrives after almost three years of updates, new biomes and community feedback. More than five million players have wandered into Embervale along the way.

The road to October 15 has had a few detours:

  1. When Early Access began, Keen Games expected the full release to land in 2025.
  2. At the first anniversary in January 2025, the target moved to spring 2026.
  3. In January 2026, the 2026 roadmap shifted the window to fall 2026.
  4. On June 25, 2026, Keen Games finally confirmed October 15.

So, if you've been searching for the Enshrouded 1.0 release date 2026, October 15 is now the official day, not a prediction or a vague window.

#Which Platforms Will Enshrouded 1.0 Launch On?

There's one important catch: not every platform is getting Enshrouded at the same time.

#PC, PS5 And PS5 Pro

On October 15, Enshrouded 1.0 launches on:

  • PC via Steam
  • PlayStation 5
  • PlayStation 5 Pro (with Pro-specific optimisation)

For PlayStation players, October 15 is a much bigger deal: it's Enshrouded's console debut. Keen Games was already demoing the PS5 build to press at Gamescom in late August. No PS4 or Xbox One versions have been announced.

#When Is Enshrouded Coming To Xbox?

Xbox Series X|S players have a little longer to wait. Keen Games is currently targeting spring 2027.

The delay was announced alongside the release date. Keen Games CEO Jan Jockel said the team had wanted to launch everywhere at once, but Enshrouded's technically demanding systems, including large-scale voxel building, terraforming and big multiplayer worlds, needed more time to hit the quality bar the studio wants on Xbox hardware.

In other words, the Xbox version hasn't been cancelled. It simply isn't part of the October 15 launch.

#Is Enshrouded 1.0 Crossplay?

Not so far. Keen Games has only ever described PC-to-console crossplay as a possible long-term goal rather than a launch feature, and nothing in the 1.0 announcements has changed that. Assume PC and PS5 players will be in separate worlds on day one unless the studio says otherwise.

#What's Coming In Enshrouded 1.0?

The full list hasn't been revealed yet. Keen Games says the release changelog and a "Highlights" video will land in October, but it has already shown off a decent amount, mostly focused on improving systems already in the game.

#1. The Fell Dragon Youngling Is Getting Reworked

One of the biggest changes targets the Fell Dragon Youngling, the game's current final boss and a long-standing source of frustration, particularly for melee builds.

Previewed changes include:

  • A deeper arena, so falling (or being blown) off the edge is less common
  • Fewer stun attacks required before the dragon becomes vulnerable, and a longer stun once it lands
  • Improved hitboxes and significantly reduced overall health
  • Every weapon type being able to hit the weak spot on its back
  • A new phase where the dragon lands on the ground, so melee characters can attack it without stunning it first
  • Melee characters being able to parry certain rock projectiles back toward the dragon

The goal appears to be keeping the encounter challenging without turning it into a marathon.

#2. Enemy Health After Player Death Is Being Adjusted

Keen Games has also been testing a change to what happens when you die halfway through a difficult fight. Rather than immediately restoring an enemy to full health, the proposed system lets its health recover gradually, giving you a chance to run back and pick up where you left off instead of resetting the encounter entirely.

This was still being balanced internally when previewed, so its exact behaviour could change before release.

#3. Updraft Will Give Players More Choice

The Forging the Path update added a charge time to Updraft and changed how it moves you, and plenty of players never warmed to it. Enshrouded 1.0 adds a setting that lets you choose between the original instant Updraft and the newer version.

Small setting on paper, big difference after a few hundred hours.

#4. Character Proportions Are Changing

Flameborn characters are also getting updated proportions for 1.0, with the aim of looking a little more heroic.

Existing players won't be stuck with their old look. The previewed system lets characters visit Elio Ricci and switch to the new proportions.

NPC and pet navigation is being worked on too. Keen Games says it has fixed every known cause of inhabitants trapping themselves in awkward corners of your base.

You know the ones.

#5. Fishing Is Getting A Bigger Rework

Bait will be tied more closely to the biome where its resources were collected, and higher-quality bait should guarantee that whatever bites matches the bait's tier. Certain fishing spots will favour fish bites while others improve your odds of treasure (or junk), and observant players will be able to tell them apart.

Basically, there should be a little more thought involved than throwing a line into the nearest puddle and hoping for the best.

#What Else Is Planned For The Full Release?

Beyond those specific changes, Keen Games' 2026 roadmap outlined a much wider range of improvements for 1.0, including:

  • Performance and optimisation, including faster shader compilation and a focus on lower and mid-range PCs
  • A smoother new-player experience and better quest progression
  • Smarter enemy behaviour and more enemy variety
  • Combat balancing and additional tactical depth
  • New locations and enemies
  • Further quality-of-life improvements

#Adventure Sharing 2.0

Adventure Sharing, introduced in Forging the Path, lets you upload your world and browse other players' creations in-game. For 1.0, it's expected to become significantly more powerful.

The expanded version adds a logic system alongside enemy spawners and traps. At Gamescom 2026, Keen Games showed it off with automatic doors and invisible triggers, and confirmed the team calls it "Adventure 2.0" internally. Creators could go beyond sharing impressive builds and start putting together custom dungeons, puzzles and challenges for other players to run.

For builders, that could quietly end up being one of 1.0's biggest additions.

#What Does 1.0 Mean For Existing Early Access Players?

Early Access players aren't getting a completely separate game. Version 1.0 is the next major evolution of the same Enshrouded you've been playing on Steam, building directly on Forging the Path, the eighth and final Early Access update released on April 21, 2026, which overhauled combat, reworked weapons and armour, reset the skill tree and introduced Adventure Sharing.

That said, there are a few sensible things experienced players should do before installing a major launch-day update:

  1. Back up your important worlds and character data.
  2. Back up any dedicated server files or configurations you don't want to lose.
  3. Check the final 1.0 patch notes before updating.
  4. Review any third-party tools or mods you use in case an update temporarily breaks compatibility.

Keen Games has generally preserved player progress through Early Access updates, but nothing announced so far guarantees every save, server config or edge case will carry over cleanly. Until the migration notes arrive, keep a backup.

#Is Enshrouded 1.0 Better With A Dedicated Server?

Enshrouded works perfectly well as a solo adventure, but co-op is where things get wonderfully chaotic.

One person is gathering resources. Someone else is building an unnecessarily large tower. Another player vanished into the Shroud 20 minutes ago and refuses to explain what happened.

For groups planning a fresh 1.0 world, reliable Enshrouded server hosting with Shockbyte can make things much easier, because the shared world doesn't disappear whenever one particular player logs off. Friends can keep building, crafting and exploring on their own schedules while all progress stays together in one persistent world. With a launch-day player spike all but guaranteed, it's worth having a server sorted before October 15.

One caveat: dedicated servers are currently a PC feature, and Keen Games hasn't said whether PS5 players will be able to join them. Check the final launch notes before assuming players on different systems can share a server.

#Should You Start Enshrouded Now Or Wait For 1.0?

The maths on this changed on September 8, 2026, when Enshrouded's price went up. Keen Games says the increase was always planned for the end of Early Access and will help fund development for as long as possible. With the pre-increase sale over, waiting for launch no longer saves you money.

If you've deliberately avoided Enshrouded because you wanted a finished version, waiting until October 15 still makes sense. You'll get the 1.0 improvements and the benefit of everything Keen Games learned during Early Access.

On the other hand, the current version already contains a huge amount of content after eight major updates and three new biomes. Starting now could be worthwhile if you want to learn the basics before launch day, experiment with character builds, practise the building system or set up a world with friends.

Either way, it's the same price now, so it comes down to whether you'd rather learn the ropes early or go in fresh.

#Enshrouded 1.0 Release Date FAQ

#When does Enshrouded 1.0 release?

Enshrouded 1.0 releases on October 15, 2026. It leaves Steam Early Access on that date and launches on PC and PlayStation 5, with PS5 Pro support.

#Is Enshrouded 1.0 coming to Xbox?

Yes, but not on October 15. Keen Games currently plans to release Enshrouded for Xbox Series X|S in spring 2027.

#Will Enshrouded get updates after 1.0?

Yes. Keen Games has been clear that 1.0 marks the end of Early Access, not the end of development, and has talked about supporting the game for years to come, including paid expansions and "a world beyond Embervale".

#Will my Enshrouded Early Access world work in 1.0?

Most likely, but it isn't guaranteed yet. Keen Games has historically preserved progress through major updates; still, check the final 1.0 patch notes for migration details and back up your worlds before updating.

#The Countdown To Enshrouded 1.0 Is On

There isn't much mystery left around the release date itself.

Enshrouded 1.0 launches October 15, 2026, on PC and PS5, while Xbox Series X|S is currently scheduled to follow in spring 2027.

What's left to see is how much Keen Games still has to reveal before launch. Between the combat, performance and Adventure Sharing changes and the new content still to be detailed, 1.0 is shaping up to be much more than a new version number.

So finish that castle. Sort out the storage room you've been ignoring for six months. And maybe rescue whichever NPC you've somehow managed to trap behind the furniture.

Embervale is almost ready for 1.0.
