How to Configure Valheim World Presets and Modifiers

As of the Hildir's Request update, Valheim introduced World Modifiers. The modifiers affect your server world's difficulty and provide you with options to completely change your world's gameplay.

Thankfully, we've made configuring your World Modifiers easy through our Settings Tab.

#How to Change Your Preset

  1. Access your Server Control Panel and Stop the server.

  2. Navigate to the Settings Tab.

  3. Scroll until you see the Preset option, then select your preferred Preset from the dropdown.

  4. Save your changes at the top of your Server Settings.

Here is a quick breakdown of what each Preset means:

PresetDescription
EasyCombat is easier, with enemies raiding bases less frequently.
HardOne step up from Normal. Combat becomes more difficult, and raids are more frequent.
HardcoreCombat, raids, and other challenges are even more difficult. Players lose items and skills forever upon death. Players don’t have access to a map and can’t use portals.
CasualMonsters won’t attack players until provoked. Raids won’t happen, combat is easier, resources are bountiful, and items and skills won’t drop upon death.
Hammer ModeSame settings as Casual difficulty, except buildings don’t require resources to make.
ImmersiveSimilar to the game's normal difficulty, except players won’t have access to the game’s map and portals.

#How to Configure Modifiers

Important

Manual changes to Modifiers will override your Preset.

  1. Access your Server Control Panel and Stop the server.

  2. Navigate to the Settings Tab.

  3. Underneath Preset, there will be 5 Modifiers you can configure individually.

  4. Configure your desired Modifiers using the dropdowns.

  5. Save your changes at the top of your Server Settings.
