How to Configure TNT Duping and Other Exploits on a PaperMC Server

PaperMC patches, fixes, and offers configuration options for many exploits and "features" in the game. For example, there are configuration options available which allow you to customize common exploits, like breaking bedrock, duping TNT with redstone, along some others. These exploit-related configuration options can generally be found in the unsupported-settings section of your server's PaperMC configuration. --- Configuring PaperMC Exploit Settings As previously mentioned, most (if not all) exploit-related settings provided by the PaperMC configuration can be found in the unsupported-settings section of the PaperMC global config file, paper-global.yml. 1. Access your server's Control Panel and navigate to the Files tab. 2. Open the config folder by clicking it. 3. Click the paper-global.yml file name to edit it. 4. Locate the unsupported settings section. 5. Modify the exploit settings to your desired values. | Option | Default | Description | |---------------------------------|------------------|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | allow-piston-duplication | False by default | Setting this to true will allow the duplication of TNT, carpets, and rails using pistons. This does not control sand duplication. | | allow-perm-block-break-exploits| False by default | Setting this to true will allow unbreakable blocks to be broken with vanilla exploits. This includes bedrock, end portal frames, end portal blocks, and more. | | allow-headless-pistons | False by default | Setting this to true will make the server allow the creation of headless pistons. These are commonly used to break permanent blocks like bedrock. | | perform-username-validation | True by default | Setting this to false will make it so the server no longer validates usernames. While this may allow users with special characters in their name to join, it can cause issues with commands and plugins. | | allow-grindstone-overstacking | False by default | Setting this to true will allow players to overstack items in the grindstone. | You can find more information about the configuration options available in the PaperMC global configuration file on this wiki page. 6. Save the file, and restart your server. After restarting your server, the settings will be applied.

Find the file, and click its name to edit it. 3. Set the enable-rcon field to true. 4. Change the rcon.port field to your newly generated additional port. 5. Access your Control Panel and Shut Down your server. 2. Click players online, under your server name. 3. Set the maximum players you would like, then click update. 4. How to Change your Minecraft Gamemode

There are a handful of different gamemodes available when playing Minecraft. As a server owner, you can change what the default gamemode should be for your server, and you can also adjust your gamemode on the fly with commands. --- Available Gamemodes (Default) - In this mode, players have to gather all their materials to build, craft items and tools and gain experience points. Players also have a health and hunger bar that they have to manage, creating a true survival experience. - The player has access to an infinite amount of almost all blocks and items available, and can destroy them instantly. Players are invulnerable and can also fly. - Players can interact with objects such as levers and buttons, and can interact with mobs. However, they can break blocks only with tools having a data tag, and place blocks only if the block they are holding has a data tag, making this mode good for adventure maps. (Java Only) - In this mode, which plays in the same way as Survival mode, the difficulty level is permanently set to "Hard", and when the player dies, they are sent permanently into spectator mode. Enabling this for your players is a slightly different process, and a related article on how to do that can be found here. - When in spectator mode, players can clip through blocks, enter the perspective of other entities by left-clicking on them, and are invisible to all players and mobs except for other spectators. The player can't interact with blocks, entities or their inventory. When in third-person mode, they look like a transparent, floating head with no body. The player can use the scroll wheel to adjust the speed at which they are flying, unlike flying in Creative mode. --- Changing the Default Gamemode By default, new players will be in survival mode when they join the server; however, you can change which gamemode will be applied in your server settings. 1. Access your server's Control Panel and navigate to the Config tab. 2. Click the file. 3. Locate and use the dropdown to change to your desired gamemode. 4. Save the file, then Restart your server --- Changing Gamemode Using a Command If you are a server operator, or you are running the command through console, you can change the gamemode of yourself or another player using one of the following commands: | Command | Example | Description | | ----- | ----- | ----- | | | | Changes the gamemode of the command sender. If you're running this command through the console, it won't work. | | | | Changes the gamemode of the specified player.
