In Abiotic Factor, players must manage their hunger, thirst, and fatigue to survive. Server owners can customise these rates to make the game easier or more challenging, depending on their preferred experience.

This guide will walk you through modifying hunger, thirst, and fatigue rates on your Abiotic Factor server.

# How to Adjust Hunger, Thirst, and Fatigue Rates

You can adjust these survival mechanics by modifying the SandboxSettings.ini file in your server configuration.

  1. Navigate to the Shockbyte Panel.
  2. Click Files.

  1. Navigate to AbioticFactor/Saved/SaveGames/Server/Worlds/<Your Save Name>.

  1. Click SandboxSettings.ini.

  1. Locate the following settings and adjust their values as needed: HungerSpeedMultiplier, ThirstSpeedMultiplier & FatigueSpeedMultiplier.

Value Ranges:

  • Minimum Value: 0.0 (disables the mechanic entirely)
  • Maximum Value: 2.0 (doubles the rate at which the need increases)

Example Adjustments:

  • If you want hunger to decrease more slowly, set HungerSpeedMultiplier=0.5.
  • If you want thirst to increase faster, set ThirstSpeedMultiplier=1.5.
  • If you want fatigue to accumulate twice as fast, set FatigueSpeedMultiplier=2.0.
  1. Click Save and Restart your server.
