Rust offers a variety of game modes for server owners to choose from when setting up their Rust server. Each game mode has slightly different server settings such as removing safe zones, setting a different max team size, allow players to not lose all their loot on death and a lot more.
You can find more information about what makes each Rust game mode unique on this wiki page.
Important
Changing game mode resets all players and their inventory. It is not recommended to do mid-wipe.
