How to Change your Server Name and Description on your FiveM server

Whether you’re looking for your server to stand out to new players or just be recognizable to you and your friends, it’s a great idea to set up a name and description for your FiveM Server.

Server names are often unique and can include information about the kind of server you offer. While server descriptions are great for emphasizing features, traits and rules of your server. Thankfully, changing your Server Name and Description is a simple process done through txAdmin.

# Changing your server name and description

To change your FiveM server’s name and description, you will need to open txAdmin and use the CFG Editor to change the sv_projectName and sv_projectDesc respectively.

1. Go to your Shockbyte Control Panel.
2. Launch txAdmin.
3. Select the CFG Editor on the toolbar.
4. Use Ctrl+F or locate sv_projectName and set your Server Name within the brackets.
   Note

   Your server's config may look different depending on the Server Recipe you chose on startup.

5. Use Ctrl+F or locate the sv_projectDesc and set your Server Description within the brackets.
6. Once complete, click Save File near the bottom.
7. Restart your server.
