How To Enable Hardcore Mode On Your Rust Server

Aimed towards veteran players, Rust's new hardcore mode removes a range of features making the world an even more unforgiving place. A few of the things disabled in hardcore mode are global chat, teams, crawling while downed and the map. 

In addition to the disabled features, players are also limited to 5 sleeping bags and the local chat range has been reduced to 100m.

# Enabling Hardcore Mode

1. Access your Control Panel and Shut Down your server.

2. Navigate to Config > Rust Server Settings.

3. Locate the Game Mode setting and select Hardcore.

4. Save and Start your Server.
