Currently, the recommended method for joining your Counter Strike 2 server is using the Steam favourites list whilst also being possible to use the in-game console to directly connect to your server.
Note
If you are not running a public server and have configured a server password, you will need to use direct connect to join your server.
# Obtaining Server Information
In order to add a server to your favourites, you'll be required to know its IP and port. You'll find the required information from your server's control panel.
The IP Address can be found on the home page of the control panel.
# Adding a Server to your Favourites
Once you have your server's IP you will be able to join after adding the server to your Steam Servers favourites list.
- In the Steam client, navigate to View > Game Servers.
- Click Favorites.
- Click the + button.
- Enter your server's IP & port then click OK.
- Select your server, then click Connect.
# Direct Connecting to your CS2 Server
To connect to your CS2 server via direct connect, you must enter the connect command using the developer console.
- Launch CS2 and open console by pushing tilde (~) or backtick (`).
- Enter the command
connect <IP:Port>.
If you are running a private server, you will need to enter the command connect <IP:Port>; password <password> instead.
