Note
When playing in experimental mode, both the server and client will need to be running experimental mode, as they are not the same version of the game. Additionally, be wary; experimental often contains game-breaking bugs and is frequently updated to patch them.
# Resetting the Server
Before getting started, you will need to back up and reset your server to prevent incompatibilities with the previous server type.
- Login to your Control Panel and Stop the server.
- Navigate to Backups.
- Select your current instance, give the backup a name, and press Create Backup. A message will appear at the top of the page once the backup has been created.
- Follow our guide on resetting your server files, and delete all server files.
# Changing Your Server Version to Experimental Mode
You can set your server to Experimental Mode via your Control Panel’s Server Type Selector.
- Click on your current server type to open the selector.
- Set your Server Type to Satisfactory Experimental, and save changes.
- Start your server.
If you want to roll back your server to the stable version, revert your server type, delete all files, and restore the backup.
# Setting Your Client to Experimental Mode
After setting your server to experimental Mode, you must also configure your client.
- Open your game launcher, and click Library.
# For Steam Users
- Locate and right-click Satisfactory, then select Properties.
# Click on Betas and opt-in for the experimental beta.
# For Epic Games Users
- Select Satisfactory Experimental and install the game.
- Wait for it to install and Start the game.
