The server name is the form of identification for your server when listed in the in-game server browser of Barotrauma. Players can search for your server in the server browser by searching for the server name.
Other information such as the server description and playstyle can be set so that server owners can explain the rules and style of gameplay of the server or provide any relevant information that players may require before connecting.
# Configuring the Server Name & Description
The server name & description can be configured in the Barotrauma Server Settings section of your server's control panel.
- Access your control panel and Stop your server.
- Navigate to Config.
- Click Barotrauma Server Settings.
- To change the server name, locate the Server Name field.
- To change the server description, locate the Server Message field.
- Save and Start your server.
# Setting a Server Playstyle
The server's playstyle doesn't impact gameplay directly, but it serves as an indication to other players about the type of experience they can anticipate from the server when viewing it in the server list and lobby.
- Access your control panel and Stop your server.
- Navigate to Config.
- Click Barotrauma Server Settings.
- Select your desired Playstyle using the dropdown menu.
- Save and Start your server.
