Typically, Myth of Empires server settings can be a bit tedious and confusing to configure, from being in different files to having startup parameters; additionally, most of them are not clearly labelled. Luckily, on your Shockbyte Server Panel, you can easily configure the most common Myth of Empires server settings in one section.


Accessing your Server Settings

Your server settings can easily be accessed using the Config section of your server's control panel.

  1. Access your control panel and Shut Down your server.
  2. Go to the Config tab.

Configuring your Server Settings

From the Config tab, you can make any required changes. The table below lists all of the available server settings.

OptionDescription
Automatic Steam UpdatesDetermine whether to automatically update the game files via Steam on server startup. It is recommended to keep this setting set to enabled.
Steam BetaOptionally set the name of your desired MOE Steam beta branch here.
Server NameSets the name of the server as displayed on the in-game MOE server browser.
PasswordSets a password to connect to your server, and also makes it private.
Server DescriptionA brief description and introduction of your server on the in-game server list (100 character limit).
AdminsGrants listed players with admin permissions in-game. Use the format of "SteamID64;SteamID64;SteamID64"
Server MapWhich map should the server load on startup.
Max PlayersThe maximum amount of players who can be connected to the server at once.
PvP0 - PvP is enabled 1 - PvP is disabled (PvE mode)
Difficulty RateIncreases the damage and health of enemies and NPCs when this number is increased to anything bigger than 1.
Enable AnnouncementWhen enabled, players will receive a configured announcement message when they connect to the server.
AnnouncementThis is the message that will be broadcast to players on join (if enabled).
Use ChatIf disabled, only admins can use the in-game chat.
Use Voice ChatIf disabled, only admins can use the in-game voice chat.
Rider Shooter Moving CheckIf disabled, the aiming range will not be enlarged while moving on a mount.
Enable Corpse Create BagIf disabled, a player's items will simply despawn when they die.
Instant DeathIf disabled, a player will instantly die when knocked down, unable to be revived.
All Can ReviveIf disabled, only friends or guild members can revive a downed player.
Enable Item DropsIf disabled, items cannot be dropped/discarded.
Show Blood EffectWhether or not blood effects appear when wounded.
Disable DamageWhether or not attacks of any kind should deal damage or not.
Drop Items on DeathIf enabled, items will not drop on death; instead, they will stay in the players inventory, but with entirely drained durability.
Enable Server LevelWhen enabled, players with a higher level than the server will have reduced XP gain. Also, players with lower levels than the server level will have increased XP gain.
Save IntervalHow often the server saves data (in minutes).
