How to Use Admin Commands on your Icarus Server

There are a range of useful commands available to Icarus server administrators such as kicking/banning players, returning the game to the lobby, sending an announcement & a few more. ::ProseNote{title="Note" description="In order to use admin commands, you will need to be connected as an Administrator." appearance="default"} :: --- Icarus Admin Commands Below is a full list of the currently available Icarus server admin commands. Command | Description | | -------- | ------- | | /AdminLogin (Password) | Log in with admin permissions using the admin password defined in your icarus.properties file. | | /KickPlayer (Steam ID or Player Name) [Reason] | Kick the specified player from the current Prospect. The kicked player will be unable to rejoin until a new Prospect begins. | | /BanPlayer (Steam ID or Player Name) [Reason] | Ban the specified player from the server. How to Send an Announcement on your Icarus Server

Some server owners may wish to make use of the command, which allows players with admin permissions to send announcements to all connected players. ::ProseNote{title="Note" description="Sending an Icarus Server Announcement requires Admin Permissions. How to Make your Icarus Server Private

Setting your Icarus server to private will allow you to give access to a select few players and stop any uninvited players from joining your server. The easiest way to achieve this is by adding a password to your server, which players will be prompted to enter before they can connect. --- Setting a Server Password A password for your Icarus server can be set in the Icarus Server Settings section of your server's control panel. 1. Access your control panel and Stop your server. 2. Navigate to Config. 3. Click Icarus Server Settings. 4. Locate the Server Password field and enter your desired server name. 5. How to Kick/Ban Players from your Icarus Server

It is possible for an Icarus server Administrator to kick or ban disruptive players or unwanted from a server using the /KickPlayer and /BanPlayer commands. ::ProseNote{title="Note" description="In order to kick/ban players, you will need to be connected as an Administrator." appearance="default"} :: --- Kicking Players If you've decided that you'd like to kick a player from your server, you can do so using the command. ::ProseNote{title="Warning" description="If you kick a player from your current Prospect, they will be banned until a new Prospect begins." appearance="default"} :: 1. Join your Icarus server as an admin. 2. Open chat by pressing Enter. 3. Enter the command . After you send the command, the player will be kicked for the remainder of the Prospect. --- Banning Players If you've decided that you'd like to ban a player from your server entirely, you can do so using the command. 1. Join your Icarus server as an admin. 2. Open chat by pressing Enter. 3. Enter the command . After the command is sent, the player will be permanently banned. How to Join your Icarus Server

Once your Icarus Shockbyte server is configured the way you would like it to be you're ready to join. There are two options available when joining your server either using direct connect or the in-game server list. The easiest method is using direct connect. ::ProseNote{title="Note:" description="In order to identify your server on the server list you will need to set your server's name." appearance="default"} :: --- Using Direct Connect In order to connect to your server using direct connect you will need to know your server's IP and port. 1. Access your control panel and locate your Server Address. 2. Open Icarus and click Play. 3. Select or Create a character. 4. Click Join. 5. Click Dedicated Servers. 6. Click Direct Connect. 7. Enter your Server Address then click Confirm. 8. If your server has a password enter it then click Confirm. --- Using the Server List It is also possible to join your Icarus server using the in-game server list. In order to identify your server on the server list you will need to set your server's name. 1. Navigate to the Dedicated Servers screen using steps 2-5 of the Using Direct Connect section above. 2. Wait for the server list to fully populate, then enter your Server Name. 3. Select your server. 4. If your server has a password, enter it, then click Confirm. How to Delete a Prospect on your Icarus Server

After playing on your Icarus server you may decide to delete a prospect file from your server for many reasons. It isn't recommended to delete the active Prospect unless you have first started a new one. --- Deleting a Prospect To delete a Prospect on your Icarus server, you will need to delete its JSON file from your server FTP. 1. Access your control panel and Stop your server. 2. Navigate to Files. 3. Navigate to . 4. Select the box(es) next to the Prospect(s) you'd like to remove, and click Delete. Click on the filename for more details about each saved Prospect. 5. Start your server. How to Configure your Icarus Server

Most Icarus server settings are located inside the Icarus Server Settings file in your server's control panel. It is possible to update settings such as the Server Name, Admin Password, Server Password, etc. ::ProseNote{title="Note" description="Before making any changes to your server config, ensure that you Stop your server, and then start it again once the change has been made." appearance="default"} :: --- Accessing your Server Settings Your primary server settings can easily be accessed using the Config section of your server's control panel. 1. Access your control panel. 2. Navigate to Config. 3. Open Icarus Server Settings. --- Configuring your Server Settings Once you have access to your server settings, you can make any required changes. The table below lists all of the available server settings. | Option | Description | | -------- | ------- | | Automatic Steam Updates | Determine whether to automatically update the game files via Steam on server startup. It is recommended to keep this setting set to enabled. | | Server Name | Sets the name on the server displayed on the in-game Icarus server browser. | | Server Password | Sets a password to connect to your server. | | Admin Password | Sets a password allowing players to become an admin. | | Non-Admin Delete Prospect | If this is enabled, players without administrator permissions can delete prospects while in the server lobby. | | Non-Admin Launch Prospect | If this is enabled, players without administrator permissions can load or starts prospects while in the server lobby. | | Last Prospect Name | This will be set to the last Prospect running on the server before shutdown or restart. This can be changed manually, however, will be automatically set to the most recent Prospect by the server on shutdown. | | Resume Prospect | If this is set to enabled, the last prospect played (if incomplete) will resume on server startup. | | Create Prospect | If a Prospect ID is defined here, a new instance of that Prospect will be loaded on every server startup. | | Load Prospect | If a Prospect ID is defined here, that Prospect will be loaded on every server startup. | | Shutdown If Empty For (In Seconds) | If the server has no connected players for X seconds, it will shut down. | | Shutdown If Not Joined For (In Seconds) | If no players join the server after startup for X seconds, it will shut down. | | Steam Beta | Enter any desired Steam beta codes here.
