How to Become an Admin on Your Project Zomboid Server

Granting a user Admin access on your Project Zomboid server allows the user to execute Admin commands in-game, such as ban, mute or kick players. A full list of commands is available on Project Zomboid Wiki. --- Joining with the Admin Account Before assigning roles to other players, you will need to login to the server with the admin user character. 1. Login to your server’s Control Panel. 2. On the left-hand side, navigate to Config. 3. Copy the Admin Password. 4. Save the server to Favorites with admin as the Account Name and the copied password as the Account Password. After joining, you will have admin rights on your server! --- Available Admin Levels for Project Zomboid Below are all the admin levels for a dedicated Project Zomboid server, which you can assign to other players. Each level comes with its own set of commands, with Admin having the fullest access to the server. - admin - moderator - overseer - gm - observer --- Adding an Admin Using the Console If you need to give another player admin access, these are the steps to do so. 1. Navigate to the Console on your server’s Control Panel. 2. Enter the command . To remove any access level, use as the level. 3. Press Enter to send the command. You will receive a confirmation message in your console indicating that the player has been given the chosen admin level. You have now assembled an admin team for your Project Zomboid server! How to Adjust Your Project Zomboid Server Settings

To configure your Project Zomboid server, you can modify options in your Project Zomboid Server Settings file or your active world's .ini file. The Project Zomboid Server Settings file contains general config options like server name, password, etc. In addition, there will be a .ini file for every world generated on your server. Your active world's file will contain more specific configuration options for your server's gameplay. ::ProseNote{title="Note" description="Before making any changes to your server configurations, ensure that you Stop your server, and then Start it again once the change has been made." appearance="default"} :: --- Accessing your Configuration Files Your primary server setting files can easily be accessed using the Config section of your server's control panel. 1. Access your control panel. 2. Navigate to Config. 3. Here you can either open your Project Zomboid Mod Settings or your Project Zomboid Server Settings. --- Configuring your Server Settings Once you have access to your server settings, you can make any required changes. The table below lists all the available common server settings in your Project Zomboid Server Settings. | Option | Description | |--------|-------------| | World Name | Configure the name of your active world/save. Will create a new world when changed. | | Admin Password | Sets a password allowing players to become an admin. | | Automatic Steam Updates | Determine whether to automatically update the game files via Steam on server startup. How to Add Mods to Your Project Zomboid Server

Mods are an amazing way to customize your server and make it stand out among others. Luckily, our servers support Project Zomboid Workshop mods. --- How to Install Mods on Your Server To install mods to your Project Zomboid server, you will require both their Workshop IDs, and Mod IDs. 1. Access your control panel and Stop your server. 2. Navigate to Config. 3. Select Project Zomboid Mod Settings. 4. Locate Workshop Items and enter the mod Workshop IDs, separated by semicolons. 5. Locate Mods and enter the Mod IDs, also separated by semicolons. 6. Click Save and Start your server. You have now installed mods on your server! If you wish to enable map mods, see below. --- Enabling Map Mods ::ProseNote{title="Note" description="When installing map mods, please ensure they are firstly entered in both the Workshop Items and Mods sections from the steps above." appearance="default"} :: 1. The server should now be running your chosen map mod. All Console Commands for Your Project Zomboid Server

Console commands allow users to modify the game’s settings, spawn items, or run functions that would otherwise be unavailable. You can use them in two different ways: Access Through The Control Panel The first way to use commands is by accessing the Console through your Control Panel. You can type them directly into the Console. If you would like to use commands from within your server, you will first need to set the player’s access level from the console. Access Through In-Game Chat Once you have been given permissions from the console, you can access commands from within a Project Zomboid server by entering the commands directly into your in-game chat. To access the chat, press T.
