Understanding your RuneScape: Dragonwilds Server Configuration
This guide explains how your RuneScape: Dragonwilds server configuration works and how to make changes correctly to avoid common issues.
#Configuration Changes Not Saving
The Jagex team is aware of an issue where changes made to the server configuration while the server is running are not saved. Until a fix is released, always stop your server before making any configuration changes, then save and start it again.
To update your configuration safely:
- Access your Control Panel and Stop your server.
- Navigate to the Config tab and select the RuneScape: Dragonwilds Settings file.
- Make your desired changes to the configuration.
- Save the configuration file.
- Start your server.
#Understanding the Default World Name
The Default World Name setting controls the name of the world your server creates on first startup. Once a world exists, that name is tied to its .sav file - updating the field will not rename or replace it.
#Starting a Fresh World with a New Name
- Access your Control Panel and Stop your server.
- Go to Files and navigate to
/RSDragonwilds/Saved/SaveGames. - Download any
.savfiles you want to keep for safekeeping. - Delete the
.savfile(s) from the folder. - Navigate to the Config tab and select the RuneScape: Dragonwilds Settings file.
- Update the Default World Name to your desired name.
- Save the configuration and Start your server.
The server will generate a fresh world under the new name.
Tip
Keep your downloaded .sav files in a safe place. If you ever want to return to an old world, you can re-upload it to /RSDragonwilds/Saved/SaveGames and the server will load it on next startup.
