How to Add an Admin to your Stardew Valley Server

Stardew Valley server administrators have access to a large range of commands that are integral to running a multiplayer server such as creating and destroying other players' cabins, kicking/banning players and host commands.  By default, the first player to join a farm will be made an Administrator, however, this can be disabled. --- Make the First Player to Join an Admin When your server starts, if this option is enabled, the first person to join will be given admin permissions. After that player is given their permissions, this configuration option sets itself back to false but can be used again at any time! 1. Access your control panel and Stop your server. 2. Navigate to Config. 3. Click Stardew Valley Farm Settings. 4. Set the Assign Admin to First Player field to enabled. 5. Click Save and Start your server. After your server finishes starting, the first player to log in will be granted administrator permissions. --- Adding Additional Admins In-Game The easiest way to add an admin is by using the host command. How To Upload An Existing Farm To Your Stardew Valley Server

Uploading your existing local farm will allow you to continue your farm's progress on a Shockbyte server with friends. To do this you will need to upload your existing farms save folder to your server. ::ProseNote{title="Important" description="You will not be able to play as the host farmer on existing farms uploaded to a server." appearance="default"} :: --- Locating your Existing Farm Before uploading your existing farm you will first need to locate its save folder. This is normally located within Stardew Valley's Appdata folder. 1. On your PC, navigate to . 2. Locate your farm save folder. 3. Make a copy of this folder and move it to your desktop. --- Uploading a Farm to your Server Once you've located your farm save folder you will need to upload it to your server. 1. Open your Control Panel. 2. Stop your server and wait for it to go offline. 3. Navigate to the Files tab and Open . 4. Upload the save folder. --- Setting your Server's Active Farm Once you've uploaded your existing farm you will need to change your server's active farm. 1. Open your Control Panel. 2. Stop your server and wait for it to go offline. 3. Navigate to the Config tab and Open the Stardew Valley Farm Settings. 4. Locate the setting Farm Name and set it to the name of the uploaded Farm. Use the name that the farm uses in-game. Using a different name will not select the save. 5. Save the file and Restart your server. --- That’s it! How To Upgrade The Main Farmhouse On Your Stardew Valley Server

Due to the way that Stardew Valley servers are hosted, they each require a ServerBot to act as the host. This means that you're unable to use Robin to upgrade the main Farmhouse. How to Spawn Items on your Stardew Valley Server

By default, there is no way for server admins to easily spawn items using commands. If you want to spawn something for yourself or other farmers you will have to install a mod, we recommend using CJB Item Spawner. The CJB Item Spawner mod only needs to be installed locally and isn't required on your server. --- Downloading CJB Item Spawner Before installing the mod, you will first need to download it from Nexus Mods. There are no prerequisites or known conflicts with other mods. 1. Navigate to the CJB Item Spawner Nexus page. 2. Scroll down and select the Files tab. 3. Select Manual Download Download Slow Download. --- Installing CJB Item Spawner Once you have the mod downloaded, you will need to extract it and then move it into your Stardew Valley installs folder. 1. By default, you will be unable to see the names of your friends and fellow farmers on your Stardew Valley server. With the help of the Stardew Nametages mod, you will be easily able to identify the farmers that are around you. The Stardew Nametags mod only needs to be installed locally and isn't required on your server. One instance of this would be the process of unlocking Grandpa's Shed. Collect the required resources to repair Grandpa's Shed (150 pieces of hardwood, 600 pieces of stone, 50 iron bars, and 20 battery packs). 2. Type into chat. Congratulations, come the next in-game day, Grandpa's Shed will be fully repaired.
