Core Keeper has an optional difficulty setting named Hard Mode that will make the game more challenging. Hard mode can only be turned on when creating a new world; you cannot switch between difficulties in the same world.
Important
You cannot change the difficulty of an existing Core Keeper world. Instead, you will need to create a new world with “Hard Mode” enabled.
# Changing Your Game Mode via Server Settings
You can adjust the difficulty of your server by modifying the configuration file.
- Log in to your control panel and Stop your server.
- It is recommended to create a backup before proceeding. You can find a guide on doing this here.
- Navigate to your Server Files.
- Locate and open the corekeeper.properties file.
- Change the
world_mode=
setting to1
, then press Save. - To apply these changes and enable Hard Mode, you’ll need to reset your world.
- Start your server.
That is it! Your server will now start up and generate a new world with Hard Mode enabled.
