Guaranteed Backup

Introducing Guaranteed Backups: Total Peace of Mind for Your Server Whether you are hosting a small, cozy server just for your closest friends or managing a sprawling 100-player community, your world is your most valuable asset. You and your community pour hundreds of hours into building, exploring, and surviving. The last thing you should ever have to worry about is losing that progress. As servers grow, so do their file sizes. Traditionally, server owners have had to play a balancing act with backup storage quotas; constantly monitoring file sizes to ensure their automated backups don't fail due to hitting a storage cap. You shouldn't have to micromanage your safety net. So now you don't. What is the Guaranteed Backup Feature? Put simply, Guaranteed Backup ensures that your primary backup slot will always fit your full server. Regardless of your backup’s total file size or any other storage limitations on your account, this primary slot acts as a failsafe that scales infinitely alongside your world. If your server is 5GB or 500GB, your primary backup will successfully capture and store every single byte of your server data. Why We Built It We noticed that as communities thrive and worlds expand, their backup files can easily bump against standard storage limits. When a backup fails because of a lack of space, it leaves your server vulnerable to griefing, corruption, or accidental wipes. With Guaranteed Backup, we are removing backup storage anxiety entirely. Key Benefits - Zero Storage Anxiety: Never wake up to a "Backup Failed: Storage Full" notification on your primary slot again. - Infinite Scaling: Build as large as you want, explore as far as you want, and add as many mods as you want. Your primary backup will always have room for your entire server. - Total Peace of Mind: Rest easy knowing that even if you exceed your standard storage quotas for secondary backups, your primary safety net is fully intact and ready to restore at a moment's notice. How to Use It The best part? You don't need to be a technical expert to keep your data safe. The Guaranteed Backup feature applies automatically to your primary backup slot in the Shockbyte control panel. Just ensure your primary backup is scheduled, and we handle the heavy lifting behind the scenes. Focus on building your server. We’ll focus on keeping it safe.

Troubleshooting: Unable To Connect To FTP

If you are unable to access your server's FTP, this guide will resolve the issue regardless of what's preventing your connection. --- Most Common Causes Using the wrong password. You can follow this guide to reset it. Entering the wrong connection details. The FTP connection details are found on the control panel under Files SFTP Connect. Not accepting the TLS encryption certificate. When logging in, make sure to accept or click OK for the security certificate. Problems with FileZilla. Try an alternate FTP client such as WinSCP or CyberDuck. Firewall/anti-virus block. Temporarily disable your firewall & anti-virus. --- Troubleshooting: Accessing FTP via the Web-based File Manager All of your FTP login information can be found on the server control panel under Files SFTP Connect. On the same page, you can simply access the web-based file manager to manage files directly from the control panel. We have a guide for accessing the panel FTP File Access here. --- Troubleshooting: Accessing FTP via FileZilla To connect using FileZilla, you will need to enter the login information found via Files SFTP Connect (the same page as the web-based file manager). The most common reason for being unable to connect is entering the wrong details or using the wrong password. Please note that the FTP Usernames are different for every server - enter them exactly as they appear on the FTP details page. Additionally, make sure there is no space before or after the details you entered. When connecting to the FTP server, make to accept the TLS security certificate. If you are still unable to connect with FileZilla and are sure you're entering the correct details, it can sometimes be caused by an issue with FileZilla or a firewall block on your end. In this case, you can try the following steps: 1. Try a different FTP client instead of FileZilla. For Windows, you can try WinSCP. For Mac, you can try CyberDuck. 2. If you still cannot connect with an alternate FTP client, the issue is most likely caused by your firewall or anti-virus. Temporarily disable both of these and try again. If you are still unable to connect, please provide the full FileZilla FTP log and/or any error messages you see to our support team in a support ticket.
