How to Install Sponge on a Forge Server

You may learn more about SpongeForge and the Sponge project by visiting the official Sponge website.

SpongeForge is a Forge mod based on SpongeAPI that lets you use Sponge plugins in your modded server. 

In this tutorial, we will show you have to install SpongeForge on your Forge server:

  1. If you haven't yet, you need to install Forge on your server. You may follow our guide here: How to Install Minecraft Forge

    When selecting a Forge version, it is ideal to install the recommended version shown on the SpongeForge download page. Below shows how to identify the recommended Forge version for a specific SpongeForge build.

  2. Download the appropriate version of SpongeForge for your Forge version:
    SpongeForge - download mod

  3. Upload your recently downloaded SpongeForge jar file ( spongeforge-1.12.2-XXXX-X.X.X.jar ) into the mods folder of your server.

  4. Restart your server to complete the installation of SpongeForge.
