Can I upgrade/downgrade my server after ordering?
Absolutely! We have a system that allows you to upgrade or downgrade your server at any time. It's a completely automated self-serve system that you can access from the client area. When upgrading, you will only need to pay the prorated amount (the difference between your current and chosen plan) and when downgrading, our system will automatically issue a prorated refund. Can I transfer my existing server to Shockbyte?
Absolutely! We provide Full FTP Access to your server, making uploading worlds/plugins to the server easy. While we do provide a Web FTP Client with Multicraft, we would highly recommend downloading an FTP Client such as FileZilla. If you currently have Minecraft Hosting with another host, we are more than happy to transfer your current files over for you - simply contact our support team with the control panel login details (and control panel link) for your previous host and any other details we'll need to access your files.

What are the specs on your servers?
We run more powerful hardware than any of our competitors. We are one of the only hosts utilizing NVMe SSDs, which are 6x faster than regular SATA SSDs. Disk speed is incredibly important for Minecraft server performance - to put it simply, we're lightyears (6 times!) ahead of the competition.
As we host hundreds of thousands of servers, the hardware we use may vary per node. All hardware is selected to provide the best performance for your service type and is reviewed for upgrades annually.

Can I change player slots?
Yes. You can change your player slots to any amount you'd like, whenever you'd like for your Minecraft server.
Why can't I connect to my server?
If you can't connect to your server after ordering, follow the steps below:
Make sure you are including the port at the end of your IP. This is a set of numbers that looks similar to :25566
Check the error message when connecting in your game client, as well as any errors that are displayed in the server console. These errors will typically tell you exactly what's wrong (and if you're not sure - you can paste them into Google and usually find a solution).
Can I use any mods or server types I want?
Definitely! We support all server types, mods, modpacks, and plugins. We have many server types and modpacks available as a 1-click install, however it is also possible to install any server type as a custom jar
Do you provide a MySQL database?
Yes! We offer MySQL databases free of charge with every Minecraft service. To get a database for your Minecraft server, simply go to your server's page on the control panel, click Advanced and then MySQL Database.
Can I change the location of my server?
Of course! You can change your server location at any time. Just get in touch with us and we can transfer your server to a new location. However, do note that when transferring between locations your server IP will change (if you're using a sub-domain, you can simply update this so your players can continue connecting with the same IP).
How much disk space is available on my server?
Unlimited. You can use as much space as you need for your server as long as you comply with our Fair Use Policy. Essentially - you can use as much space as you need for your service as long as it's related to your service (you cannot store movies, music, etc).

What control panel is provided for Minecraft?
We use the Multicraft control panel for our Minecraft servers. Multicraft is the world’s most popular control panel for Minecraft. It’s easy to use and we’ve packed it full of useful features to make your life easier!
Can I use my own map on the server?
Of course! You can upload a custom world via FTP. We also have a tutorial explaining the process.
Can I run a modpack on my server?
Absolutely! All of our packages support every modpack.
Do I need to port forward?
No way! We're hosting the server for you, so all you need to do is connect with the IP we provide you.
Can I pay in other lengths, rather than monthly?
As well as a monthly billing cycle, we allow you to pay quarterly, semi-annually or annually.
I can’t login! What do I do?
If you’re having issues signing in to your Shockbyte account (the Client Area) try resetting your password through the forgot password link on the login page.
If you’re struggling to sign in to your Multicraft account (the Control Panel), remember that the password is different to the client area and we have a guide to walk you through resetting your Multicraft password.
