What is Shockbyte?

Shockbyte is a dedicated and friendly team of gamers with experience in all areas of game and web server hosting. The Shockbyte team are based in Australia and have been providing high quality and affordable servers to an international customer base since March of 2013.

What is a Dedicated IP?

A dedicated IP is an IP that is reserved for only one server and isn't shared with others. This means is that you can use the default Minecraft port of 25565, which will allow you to only enter the IP without the trailing :port number to connect to your server. If you have a URL redirect (DNS Record), it also means you won't have to append the port after the URL to join your server. This allows your server to appear more professional and is easier to memorize and join.

Can I add and manage plugins?

Of course! We offer Full FTP Access which allows you to upload, configure or remove any plugins, additionally, Multicraft allows you to install any plugin published on the Bukkit website in a single click!

Can I transfer my current hosting to Shockbyte?

Absolutely! We provide Full FTP Access to your server, making uploading worlds/plugins to the server easy. While we do provide a Web FTP Client with Multicraft, we would highly recommend downloading an FTP Client such as FileZilla. If you currently have Minecraft or Web Hosting with another host, we are more than happy to transfer your current files over for you - simply contact our support team.

Do I have to port forward?

No way! We're hosting the server for you, so all you need to do is connect with the IP we provide you.

Do you provide MySQL databases?

Yes! We offer MySQL databases free of charge with every Minecraft service. To get a database for your Minecraft server, simply go to your server's page on the control panel, click Advanced and then MySQL Database.

Can I change player slots?

Yes. You can change your player slots to any amount you'd like, whenever you'd like for your Minecraft server.

Do you support Mod Packs?

Absolutely! All of our packages support every Mod Pack.

Can I pay in other lengths, rather than monthly?

As well as a monthly billing cycle, we allow you to pay quarterly, semi-annually or annually.
