How to Install Magma on Your Minecraft Server

Magma is a hybrid server type that supports the use of Forge mods alongside Bukkit/Spigot plugins. This guide will assist you with installing Magma for 1.12.2, 1.16.5, and 1.18.2.

Important: As Magma is still in development, there may be bugs and incompatibilities between the server type and the mods and plugins installed. If you experience any issues, please don’t hesitate to report any errors on their issue reporting page!

Install Magma Server Type

The latest version of Magma can be installed by selecting the Magma Server Type using the Server Type Selector on your Multicraft control panel.

  1. Access your Multicraft control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Select (Hybrid) Magma 1.18.2 Latest from the Server Type dropdown menu.

  3. Return to your Multicraft dashboard and Start your server.

Installing Magma Manually

  1. Download the server JAR for your preferred version from the Magma Foundation website.
  2. Access your Multicraft control panel and Stop your server.
  3. Rename the server JAR file to custom.jar, then follow our guide on installing a Custom JAR here.
  4. Return to your Multicraft dashboard and Start your server.

Congratulations, you will now be able to run Forge mods with Bukkit/Spigot plugins!
