In order to join your Garry's Mod Server, you'll need to find your Server's IP address:
- Login to your Control Panel.
- Copy the Server Address field. Make sure you copy the IP and the port.
Info: Make sure to restart your server to ensure it is online and up-to-date.
CONNECTING THROUGH STEAM
You can join your Garry's Mod Server through Steam by following these steps:
- In the Steam Client, navigate to View > Game Servers.
- Navigate to the Favourites tab and click Add server by IP.
- Enter your Server Address and click OK.
- Select your server from the list and click Connect.
- (Optional) Enter your server password if one has been set, and press Join Game. To set a password, refer to this article.
You are now connecting to your Garry's Mod Server!
CONNECTING THROUGH THE COMMUNITY SERVER LIST
Another method to find your server is via the community search list if your server has been set to be publicly visible. This is most likely the method you will use for friends to be able to join.
- Click Find Multiplayer Game in the main menu.
- Select the gamemode your server is running, in this guide, it will be Sandbox.
- Search your server by its name and wait for your server to appear.
- Click your server, enter a password if needed and select Join Server.
You are now connecting to your Garry's Mod Server!
NOTE: After adding the server to your favourites, the server will also appear in the favourites category in the Community Server Browser.
