Unfortunately with a vanilla Left 4 Dead 2 server, it is not possible to select a specific character for each player. However, with the use of a plugin called Set Survivor Models, it has made this possible!
The download for Set Survivor Models can be found here. Once downloaded, you should have a file named l4d2_sm_setmodel.smx.
Installing The Plugin
Set Survivor Models can easily be installed by uploading the .smx file to your server's plugins folder.
- Access your control panel and Stop your server.
- Go to Files > FTP File Access.
- Enter your Multicraft Password then click Login.
- Navigate to
left4dead2/addons/sourcemod/plugins/.
- Click Upload.
- Click Choose File, upload
l4d2_sm_setmodel.smxthen click Submit.
- Start your server.
Using The Plugin
- Ensure you are set as an admin.
- Open console with
`key. - Enter the following command:
sm_setmodel <player username> <nick|rochelle|coach|ellis|bill|zoey|francis|louis>- Ensure you pick just one of the character names.
