How to Link a Custom Domain To Dynmap

Having your own custom domain linked to Dynmap allows you to hide your IP address, whilst having a direct link to your Dynmap can be much easier for players to access.

Linking Dynmap with Namecheap

To do this you will be required to have an active domain on Namecheap.

  1. Access Namecheap and navigate to Account > Domain List.
  2. Locate the domain you wish to use, and click Manage.
  3. Select Advanced DNS.
  4. Under Host Records, click Add New Record.
  5. Enter the following details based on the heading:
    1. Type = URL Redirect Record
    2. Host = @
    3. Value = Enter your Dynmap URL, e.g. http://123.45.67.89:1234
    4. Set to Unmasked.
  6. Click Save All Changes.
  7. You can now access your Dynmap using your new domain, by entering your domain like this -- http://shockbyte-test.org/
