How to Save your ARK World to your Desktop

ARK: Survival Evolved has several files that contain world, tribe and character-related data which includes progression, dinos, landmarks and player-built structures. It may be necessary for a server owner to take a backup of these files to switch to a new world or reset their server.

Saving ARK World Data

You can save your server's current world data by accessing your server files through Filezilla and saving them to your computer.

  1. Navigate to your control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Access your server files via FTP, we recommend using Filezilla.
  3. Navigate to ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks/.
  4. Select the files you wish to save and drag them onto your desktop.
    • .ark contains world data.
    • .arkprofile contains player character data.
    • .arktribe contains all tribe-related information.
