Terraria servers are public by default. This means that anyone who has the IP is able to join. To add an extra layer of security and prevent griefing on your Terraria server, you can add a password. This will secure your server and make sure no unwanted guests can join.
# Change Your Terraria Server Password
You can change your server password within the Terraria Server Properties in the Config tab.
- Access your control panel and Stop the server.
- Navigate to the Config tab.
- Open the Terraria Server Properties and find the Password setting.
- In the password field, type the password you would like to use, then click Save.
Click on Generate to create a secure, randomized password.
- Restart your server for changes to apply.
Once your server has restarted, your password will be active.
