How to Configure Bots on your Barotrauma Server

AI-controlled crew can be added to any game mode to assist players with their mission. While the AI crew members will take initiative and complete tasks on their own, players can also issue orders for them to complete.

Bots will arrive on your submarine when you leave the station for the first time.

Setting a Max Bot Count

Before starting a mission or campaign with bots you will first need to set a maximum bot count in your server's Barotrauma Server Settings file.

Step 1:

Access your control panel and Stop your server.

Step 2:

Navigate to Config Files.

Step 3:

Click Barotrauma Server Settings.

Step 4:

Enter the number of bots in the Max Bots field.

Step 5:

You can set the default number of bots using the Bot Count field. This value can be changed in the server lobby.

Step 6:

Save and Start your server.

Adding Bots to your Server

After setting a Max Bot count you're able to select how many bots will join your crew on the server lobby screen.

Step 1:

Join your server.

Step 2:

In the Settings section, set a Bot count.

Step 3:

Set a Bot spawn mode. Fill mode will include players in the count, meaning a bot count of 5 with 2 players will spawn 3 AI bots.

Step 4:

Click Start.
