If you want to use your Minecraft server world in singleplayer, as a backup, or to use it on another server, you will first need to download your world from your server. This guide will assist you with both downloading a copy of your world, as well as loading it in your game so you can play it.

Note

This method of downloading worlds only works for transferring from a Vanilla Bedrock server to a PC/Laptop. Unfortunately, if your server is running Nukkit or PocketMine, or if you are using a mobile device like a phone or tablet, you will not be able to use your world.

# Downloading your Bedrock World

You can download your server's world from the sFTP access, located on your server's control panel.

  1. Access your control panel and Shut Down your server.
  2. Navigate to your server files.
  3. Open the \worlds folder.
  4. Click the three dots on your world folder, then click Download Folder

# Using your World in Singleplayer

If you would like to use the server world you just downloaded in singleplayer, you can upload it to your singleplayer worlds directory by following these steps.

  1. Press WIN + R to open the Windows Run program
  2. Paste the string into the Run window and then click OK.
%appdata%/../Local/Packages/Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe/LocalState/games/com.mojang/minecraftWorlds

Entering this directory path using Windows Run should automatically open your Minecraft Bedrock worlds directory. If for whatever reason this doesn't work in your case, feel free to browse YouTube or Google for steps on locating your Bedrock worlds directory.

  1. Locate the new world folder you just generated.

The folders in the directory you opened are named with random characters, which is normal. To find a specific world, you can either sort the folders by "Date Modified" to have the most recently played world appear at the top, or open each folder and read the levelname.txt file inside to see the world's exact name. Sorting by date is quicker, but reading the text files provides precise world names.

  1. Return to the server world you downloaded, and unzip it.
  2. Open the unzipped folder, then move the world folder to your local worlds directory.

Make sure the world folder you move is not a layered folder. For example, make sure you are just uploading a folder named WorldNameHere/... not WorldNameHere/WorldNameHere/....

  1. Launch Minecraft Windows Edition, navigate to your singleplayer worlds, then launch your newly added world.

After completing the steps above, you're done! You should now be loaded into the world you downloaded from your server!
