There are many reasons why a server owner might wish to know the seed of their Valheim World, however, the Valheim developers don't make the seed of a world easily accessible through commands.
There are third-party tools available to find the seed of a world that is not currently loaded on your server.
# Finding Your World Seed
If you need to find the seed of your world, you can upload the world file to a third-party tool to find the seed.
- Access your control panel and Stop your server.
- Navigate to the Files tab.
- Locate and Open the
savedata > worlds_localfolder. - Download the .fwl file associated with your desired world.
- Navigate to: https://valheim-map.world/getseed.html
- Click Choose file.
- Select your .fwl file then click Open.
- Your world's seed can then be seen at the bottom of the page.
