When joining your Hytale server, if you are experiencing either slow connection speeds or your world not loading when connecting to your server. This guide can walk you through the process of resolving this issue.

#Symptoms

  • Your Internet Connection is usually fast/stable.
  • Singleplayer worlds load without any issues.
  • Connecting to a Server/Friend is slow and the world doesn't load on your end
  • You are on Windows

If these symptoms apply to you, this guide can assist you in resolving this particular issue.

#The Problem

Some network devices, such as those from Intel & Realtek, have rare driver issues. The protocol that Hytale is using (QUIC), is very modern and not always fully supported on all computers.

This is a known problem and will most likely not see a driver update. It affects modern platforms and also both Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections.

#Resolving the Issue

  1. Open the Start Menu and type "View network connections".
  2. Select the Control Panel link.
  3. Select the Network Connection responsible for your Internet Connection.
  4. Right-Click it, select "Properties".
  5. Select "Configure..."

Note

After attempting one of the following Solutions, please verify if it resolves the issue. You may not need to make all of these changes described for this to work.

Solution 1
  1. Select the Property "Priority & VLAN"
  2. Change the Value to "Priority & VLAN Disabled"
  3. Click "OK" and attempt to connect to the Server again

Solution 2
  1. Select "Recv. Segment Coalescing (IPv4)" and select "Disabled"
  2. Select "Recv. Segment Coalescing (IPv6)" and select "Disabled"
  3. Click "OK" and wait for your Internet Connection to be restored
  4. Attempt to connect to the Server again

Solution 3
  1. Select "Advanced EEE" and select "Disabled"
  2. Select "ARP Offload" and select "Disabled"
  3. Select "Energy-Efficient Ethernet" and select "Disabled"
  4. Select "Flow Control" and select "Disabled"
  5. Select "Green Ethernet" and select "Disabled"
  6. Click "OK" and wait for your Internet Connection to be restored
  7. Attempt to connect to the Server again

Solution 4

Should any of the previous solutions not resolve the connection issue, we recommend attempting to use a VPN to connect to the server.

Using a VPN will act as a workaround and should provide you with much faster connections and allow you to view the server world.
