How to Downgrade your 1.20 Trails and Tales Server back to a Previous Version

If you updated your Minecraft server to 1.20 but want to revert to a previous version for whatever reason, you have the option to do so.

If you have a backup, restore it and change your server type back to the previous version. If you don't have a backup, generating a new world may be necessary.

Downgrading your Server From 1.20

If you want to revert your Minecraft server from the new 1.20 update to a previous version, you can restore the backup you created before updating by following this guide.

(Recommended) If you did not create a backup before updating, to prevent corruption when downgrading, generating a new world is recommended. Any world generation in 1.20 may cause issues when reverting to an older version. Resetting the world can be done by following this guide.

After resetting the world, set your server type to the desired Minecraft server version and start it up by following this guide. We recommend that you select the same server type/Minecraft version used before updating to 1.20, especially if the world wasn't reset during the downgrade.
