How to Setup Wipes on your The Front Server

Regular server wipes are important for maintaining an active player base and preventing progression bottlenecks. These wipes typically involve resetting both the map and player data, offering a fresh gaming experience. In some cases, it might only be a map reset.

It's important to make it clear to players when a server wipe will take place so they are aware of how their in-game progress will be affected.

Assigning a Wipe Date

You can set a wipe date in The Front Server Settings file found in your server's control panel.

Important: This will not automatically wipe your map or player data, currently there is no way to automatically do this so you are required to manually reset your map and reset player data.
  1. Access your control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to Files > Config Files.
  3. Click The Front Server Settings.
  4. Locate the Wipe Date option, and set this to your desired date. As stated, the format required is YYYY-MM-DD. For Example, setting the value to 2023/11/10 would set the wipe date as the 10th of November, 2023.
  5. Save and Start your server.
  6. You can then see the Wipe Date on the server browser, the duration will be stated by the number of days until wipe.
