How to Configure your Soulmask Server

A benefit of owning a Soulmask dedicated server is the configuration options offered for many of the game features. Allowing server owners to customise the experience their server offers.


Navigating to your Soulmask Server Settings

You can configure the main Soulmask server settings from your Soulmask Server Settings file, found on your server's control panel.

  1. Access your control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate Files > Config files.
    click files, then click config files in the menu dropdown
  3. Click Soulmask Server Settings.

Changing your Soulmask Server Settings

Once you have access to your server settings, you can make any required changes. The table below lists all the available settings found in the Soulmask Server Settings file.

Make sure after you change any settings, you Save your changes and Start the server.

Option Description
Automatic Steam Updates Enable or disable automatic steam updates and file validation on server startup.
Steam Beta (Optional) Enter the beta branch name of your desired Palworld server Steam beta.
Server Name Sets the name on the server browser list.
Password Sets a password to connect to your server.
Admin Password The password used by admins to grant themselves admin permissions in-game.
Maximum Players Sets the maximum amount of players on your server.
Save Time Interval
Sets how often (in seconds) the server should automatically save.
Backup Time Interval
Sets how often (in seconds) the server should automatically generate a backup.
Game Type

Choose whether your server is PVE or PVP.

  • PVE (Default) - Players cannot attack each other.
  • PVP - Players can engage in combat with one-another.

Additional Soulmask Configuration

Soulmask servers also contain an additional configuration file called GameXishu.json. This config contains many more config options which effect smaller details on your server, although the options aren't in English.

Feel free to refer to this article for translations/brief descriptions of all the available options in the GameXishu.json configuration file.

  1. Access your control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate Files > Config files.
    click files, then click config files in the menu dropdown
  3. Click GameXishu.json.
    Click the gamexishu.json file
  4. Make your desired changes to any options.
  5. Save and Start your server.
    Save the file before starting your server
