Hosting a Soulmask Server

The following section covers the first-time setup we would suggest Soulmask server owners follow to get started with their server!

Server Name

Although the in-game server list has proven a bit unreliable on release, it's still recommended to have a unique server name as a form of identification allowing players to easily find and connect to your server.

(Optional) Making your Server Private

If you don't plan on hosting a public Soulmask server, it is recommended to add a password to your server to restrict access to only those with knowledge of the server password. This way you are less likely to have unwanted players connecting and causing chaos on your private server.

Admins

Admins are an important part of any server, having players that have additional permissions that can help moderate and customise your server.

Joining your Server

Once the initial setup is ready, then you and other players can connect to your server.

Customising your Soulmask Server

Once the initial setup has been completed for your Soulmask server, as a server owner you can start investigating ways of additional customisation for your server.

Soulmask Server Settings

The Soulmask Server Settings configuration file contains the main configuration options for Soulmask servers and can be easily modified at any time. You can learn more about the settings available in this config, and what they do in the following knowledgebase guide:

Additional Soulmask Configuration

Soulmask servers also come with an additional configuration file called GameXishu.json. This game developer provided configuration file is not written in English, however, contains many "fine detail" configuration options which you might be interested in modifying.

You can find steps on how to locate this configuration file in the following knowledgebase guide:

For translations and brief descriptions of the options available in GameXishu.json, please refer to the following third-party article:
